India, June 30 -- Come July 6 and actor Saiyami Kher will take on her second Half Ironman race, this time in Sweden - and the stakes are significantly higher. Having completed her first race in September last year, she admits to a swirl of emotions ahead of this more challenging edition. "I'm more nervous this time... When you're young, you don't have fears, but when you start getting experiences, then those fears start setting in," the 33-year-old tells us from location. The added fear stems from the fact that the Swedish course features a hilly terrain. Unlike the flat route of her previous race, this one is tougher and more technical. "This time, the race is eight times tougher," she shares, adding, "It's a more advanced race because it's also the European championship. The people who win will qualify for the world championships, but my goal is just to finish." Saiyami's training regimen remained largely the same - two hours daily and six-hour sessions on Sundays, focused on running, cycling, and swimming. She added hill training to prepare for the steep elevation. "I started running on Pali Hill (Mumbai) and the steep slope near (actor) Shah Rukh Khan sir's house," she shares, adding, "It's more like a lifestyle for me now... The day I don't train, I feel something is wrong." This race is no longer just a personal challenge. After receiving widespread support for her previous effort, Saiyami feels a sense of responsibility: "I was doing it just because I wanted to do it. But it showed me the power of social media if it's used in a positive way," she reflects, adding how several people have adopted healthier lifestyles seeing her trajectory. "It's so fulfilling," the actor muses. This lifestyle translates to her professional choices as well. "The sense of strength that comes with doing sports trickles down to even the roles that I choose. And I'm very happy that I have played some strong characters," she signs off....
