Sangrur, June 23 -- Cabinet minister Aman Arora laid the foundation stones for water supply and street lighting projects worth Rs.5.39 crore in Longowal on Sunday. The water supply project, worth Rs.3.91 crore, will benefit over 600 households. The project includes installation of a tube well, a water tank and a 3-km pipeline. Under the Rs.1.48-crore street lighting project, 800 street lights will be installed. The minister appealed to the people to monitor the construction work and report discrepancies, if any, to the authorities. He assured that the projects would be completed within the stipulated time frame. He added that the government would soon initiate development projects in villages as well. In Dirba, cabinet minister Harpal Singh Cheema said the state government is establishing sports nurseries in villages. Three recently appointed sports coaches were introduced to players in presence of the minister. The three coaches will train youth in Kohrian, Chhahad and Dirba villages.htc...
