Stadium roars finally as India level ODI series
Mohali, Sept. 18 -- As India drubbed Australia by 102 runs in the second women's ODI played at the PCA Stadium in New Chandigarh on Wednesday, the stands finally erupted in joy.
Unlike the first match on Sunday, a lot more fans turned up, cheering for the Indian team that had lost the first tie.
Led by Smriti Mandhana's 91-ball 117, India set a strong target of293, before bowling out Australia for 190.
With this win, India not only ended Australia's eight-match winning streak but also clinched an ODI victory at home after 18 long years, the last being at Mumbai in 2007.
The three-match series will conclude with the final ODI at Arun Jaitley stadium in New Delhi on September 20....
