Chandigarh, Dec. 3 -- To promote physical fitness, sportsmanship, and teamwork among students "The Annual Sports Meet" was held on Tuesday at St Xavier`s Senior Secondary School, Chandigarh for the students of Classes 6 to 12. The programme began with a march past by the council members and School Anthem invoking the blessings of almighty. Principal, Ivorine Castellas declared the meet open after an inspiring speech. This was followed by the hoisting of the school flag, a march past by various teams of students participating. A wide range of events were conducted, including Bouncing and Passing of the ball, tyre- relay , lemon spoon race, slow cycling race, collecting cones, hula hoop relay, filling bucket, bamboo relay, obstacle race, crab race , flipping bottle, ring relay, balancing ball, sack relay , 5 legged race , ankle drag race 100m, 150m and 200 meter races. A large number of students participated enthusiastically for the event showing their skills.
