Chandigarh, Sept. 23 -- The annual "Mrs Merlyn Gosain Staff Badminton Tournament-2025" was organised by the sports department of St Xavier's Senior Secondary School. A week-long tournament saw participation from 50 teaching and non-teaching staff members across four branches Chandigarh, Panchkula, Mohali & Zirakpur. The tournament was played under two categories women doubles and men doubles. The finals took place on September 19. In women doubles finals, Shama Parveen of Zirakpur and Rani of Chandigarh beat Priyanka Rana of Chandigarh and Rituja Mishra of Zirakpur by -2-1 ( 16-21;21-17 and 21-13) Semi Finalists - Jasmine Kaur of Zirakpur Branch & Prachi Sharma of Chandigarh Branch and Maninder Kaur and Sital Mundra of Chandigarh Branch. In men doubles, winners - Chandan S Patwal and Pritam Rawat of Chandigarh beat Ben William of Chandigarh and Rakesh of Panchkula Branch by 2-0 ( 21-12 and 21-16) Semi finalists-Shashi Prakash of Panchkula Branch and Nishant Bijlwan of Chandigarh Branch and Aarya Thapliyal and Harinder Rana of Chandigarh Branch.
