chandigarh, Jan. 31 -- St Joseph's Senior Secondary School, Sector 44-D, celebrated the 76th Republic Day with gestures that reflected patriotism, creativity, and inclusivity, and a confluence of cultural expressions on the ideals enshrined in the Constitution, fostering a sense of national pride. The ceremonial flag hoisting was led by principal Monica Chawla and attended by various government schools' principals, representatives, students and teachers, which was praised, and showcased the school's commitment to collaboration. Seema B Grover, principal, Government Model High School, Sector 45-C, was present. The dignitaries were welcomed with planters as a token of gratitude. National anthem's collective rendition was performed by guests and staff. The segment featured dance by the junior group and senior students and songs' rendition by the junior choir. Swarachit Kavya Goshti added a literary touch, with self-composed poems from the English, Hindi, and Punjabi departments. The poetic tributes articulated love for the nation. The declamation contest was "Unfolding your expectations." Students expressed gratitude to India's leaders and shared their expectations and vision for the nation's future. Winners were awarded cash prizes, encouraging civic engagement. A musical mash-up by teachers served as a tribute to the nation. Two initiatives were unveiled: "The Map of India on Cultural Canvas" and "The Wall of Unsung Heroes of the Indian Republic." The map was created by students dressed in traditional costumes representing different states, showcasing unity in diversity, celebrating the essence of harmony and honouring individuals who have contributed to the nation's progress via sacrifices. Another unique feature was a dedicated board for "My pledge for my nation" in which everyone inscribed, affirming their commitment to the ideals of justice, liberty and equality. Balloon-releasing ceremony was jointly performed by students, symbolising hope and aspirations for a brighter future. Management members congratulated the faculty and the organising team for their approach that inspired a collective commitment to building a stronger nation. Chawla said the occasion is not merely a commemoration but a moment to reflect on every citizen's responsibility in nation-building and as custodians of its values.
