St Joseph's School celebrates Constitution Day with SLSA (UT)
Chandigarh, Dec. 1 -- St Joseph's Sr Sec School observed Indian Constitution Day on November 26 in collaboration with the State Legal Services Authority (SLSA), Chandigarh, reaffirming its commitment to nurturing informed, responsible, and socially conscious young citizens.
The programme was graced by Arun Kumar Aggarwal, Additional District & Sessions Judge and Member Secretary, SLSA Chandigarh.
His insightful address on the theme "Constitutional Values and Responsible Citizenship" engaged students meaningfully and encouraged them to reflect on the role they play in strengthening democratic values.
In his talk, Aggarwal highlighted that the Constitution is not merely a legal reference but a guiding framework designed to ensure justice, dignity, and equality for all citizens.
He spoke about the importance of understanding Fundamental Rights and emphasised that civic responsibility goes hand in hand with constitutional privileges.
He further shed light on provisions laid out for the marginalised sections of society, including the role of the Legal Services Authorities Act, which ensures free legal aid to those who cannot afford legal representation. Students gained clarity on how the justice system works to protect the vulnerable and ensure fairness within society.
Aggarwal acknowledged it as one of India's most defining achievements - crafted with foresight, resilience, and a deep commitment to a democratic future by eminent Indian dignitaries. Through relatable examples and meaningful insights, he encouraged students to view the Constitution as a living document that shapes rights, responsibilities, and national identity.
Principal Monica Chawla addressed the gathering and expressed her appreciation for the initiative.
