St Anne's holds parents' orientation programme
Chandigarh, April 13 -- St Anne's Convent School Sector 32-C Chandigarh organised an orientation programme for parents with the aim of guiding them on effective parenting practices, early identification of special needs, and ensuring children's overall well-being.
The programme began with a prayer dance and a welcome address. The session was conducted collaboratively by the School counselor Sarika, special educator Gursharan and Veerpal Kaur. She emphasised the importance of spending quality time with children in today's fast-paced world. Parents were encouraged to actively engage in meaningful conversations and activities with their children to strengthen emotional bonds. She also highlighted the need to regulate digital and screen time, advising parents to establish clear and consistent limits. Additionally, she stressed that parents should avoid comparing their children with others, as each child has unique abilities and develops at their own pace. Following this, the special educator Gursharan, addressed the parents on the early identification of children with special needs. She explained various signs that parents can observe in their children and emphasised the importance of timely intervention. The final session was conducted by a doctor, who focused on children's health and nutrition. The doctor highlighted the importance of providing a balanced diet to support physical and mental development. The programme concluded on a positive note, with parents expressing appreciation for the valuable insights shared.
