Chandigarh, Aug. 8 -- Ministry of Education's Innovation Cell (MIC) has launched the School Innovation Council (SIC) program for schools across the country. The programme aims at fostering the culture of Innovation, Ideation, Entrepreneurship, Creativity, and Design Thinking in Schools. This initiative is a major tool for the implementation of recently released National Innovation and Entrepreneurship Promotion Policy(NIEPP) for schools by the union ministry of Education. Under this programme, St Anne's convent school was one of the 27 selected schools around the country who got the opportunity to attend National Innovation Showcase and Assembly. The four-day event from 28 July -31 July served as a lifetime experience for the students of St. Anne's Innovation team along with their mentor Sneh Lata who was grateful to the school principal, Sr Siji Issac for always supporting innovative and experiential learning projects wholeheartedly. Each of the 27 teams set up their innovation stalls, showcasing their impact stories, research insights, and prototypes during a well-planned exhibition session. During the session, Dharmendra Pradhan, the Honourable Minister of Education, Government of India, highlighted the transformative power of the NEP and its focus on experiential learning, innovation, and youth empowerment. Anneans also interacted with a distinguished audience comprising educational leaders, policymakers, and industrial experts. Not only this, renowned young activists including Anoushka Jolly, known for her anti- bullying initiatives and Ranbir Sachdev, had a 6 year old tech entrepreneur and coder given inspirational speeches. They inspired attendees to believe in the potential of purpose-driven innovation by sharing their own experiences and the challenges they overcome Participants also attended an insightful seminar on innovation development in the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi.
