Sri Guru Harkrishan Public School celebrated 79th Independence Day
Chandigarh, Aug. 19 -- Sri Guru Harkrishan Senior Secondary Public School, Sector 40-C, celebrated the 79th Independence Day, dedicated to the theme "Nava Bharat" (New India). The member in-charge of the school managing committee, Paramjit Singh, honourary secretary S TP Singh, and member Sardar Inderjit Singh graced the occasion with their presence. Paramjit Singh, member in-charge, unfurled the national flag and, along with the members, received the salute from different school houses. The National Anthem was sung collectively. The colourful programme began with a melodious rendition of the song "Vande Mataram". This was followed by an inspiring speech by Vice Head Girl, Aarzoo Kaur Brar on the topic "15th August - A History, A Pride". The event further included a soulful performance titled "Awaaz-e-Watan", a vibrant dance performance "Jashn-e-Azadi: Dance of Diversity", "Yoga: Breathe the Independence", and energetic Bhangra Beats presented by the students, which enthralled everyone. While congratulating the students on the 79th Independence Day, Paramjit Singh , member In-charge, inspired them to fulfil their duties alongside enjoying their rights. He emphasised the importance of keeping one's surroundings clean, following traffic rules, and contributing to the nation's progress. Honorary secretary S TP Singh motivated students to maintain the dignity of the national flag and focus on self-reliance, describing it as the true path to strength and progress.On this occasion, medals were also distributed to students who excelled in Olympiads.The NSS wing of the school participated in the parade held at Sector 17, securing the second position and bringing pride to the school by being honoured by Shri Gulab Chand Kataria, governor of Punjab, and the UT Administration, Chandigarh.
Principal Shama Kukkal extended her warm wishes on Independence Day and expressed heartfelt gratitude to the esteemed guests for taking time out of their busy schedules to attend the celebration. The programme concluded with the distribution of laddoos among students....
