India, Dec. 7 -- Bal Bharati Public School, Ludhiana, proudly hosted the 16th annual inter-unit sports meet from November 7 to 9, bringing together teams from 23 Bal Bharati units across India. The three-day event welcomed around 1,200 athletes, who competed with enthusiasm and sportsmanship across seven major sporting disciplines. A total of 251 matches were conducted for boys and girls in volleyball, basketball, tennis, table tennis, badminton and chess, along with 10 athletic track and field events. The opening ceremony was graced by chief guest Arjun Singh Cheema, international shooter and Asian Games gold medallist, along with guest of honour Teja Singh Dhaliwal, general secretary, Punjab Basketball Association. The event was further enriched by the presence of distinguished dignitaries - Nikhil Channa, president, CES and chairperson, sports council; LV Sehgal, joint secretary, CES, and secretary (manager), BBPS Ludhiana; and Meenu Goswami, academic adviser, CES. The closing ceremony was honoured by the presence of Gurjant Singh, eminent Indian field hockey player, along with senior CES dignitaries. BBPS Pitampura clinched the overall winner's trophy, while BBPS Navi Mumbai and BBPS Ludhiana secured the second and third positions, respectively.
