Gurugram, Oct. 6 -- A speeding Thar crashed into a motorcycle rider coming from the opposite direction after one carriageway of the bypass road in Sector 37, Faridabad was blocked, police said on Sunday. The incident took place near Universal Hospital around 11.15pm on Saturday. Sub-inspector Ved Prakash, additional station house officer of Sarai Khawaja police station said drivers of both vehicles sustained injuries in the accident. "While the driver of the Thar is in stable condition, the motorcycle rider is grievously wounded and is expected to undergo an operation by Monday," Prakash said. Investigators said, based on preliminary findings, the Thar ran over the motorcyclist, with the wheel of his bike stuck in the driver's side of the SUV. The impact dragged the motorcycle rider under the Thar, which climbed onto the road divider. Police identified the motorcycle rider as Jagdish, 25, resident of Faridabad. Following the crash, a crowd gathered at the scene and called police. An ERV rushed to the site and the victim was pulled out with the assistance of bystanders, Prakash said.
