New Delhi, Aug. 25 -- South Delhi Superstarz scripted a thrilling finish to lift their first-ever Women's Delhi Premier League title on Sunday, edging past Central Delhi Queens by just one run at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Sunday night. Yet, the chase unraveled in the closing overs under the brilliance of Superstarz bowlers Medhavi Bidhuri (3/26) and Himakshi Choudhary (2/18). Choudhary turned the tide in the penultimate over, conceding just three runs while dismissing Monika and another set batter. That left Queens needing seven off the final six deliveries. Bidhuri was struck for a boundary off her first ball, but recovered immediately, claiming Mallika Khatri and forcing mistakes. Shokeen and Riya Kondal could not hold their nerve and the Queens fell agonisingly short. Earlier in the day, a plantation drive was held at the venue to commemorate the death anniversary of ex-minister Arun Jaitley....
