Singh Sabha flags timing of AAP govt's sacrilege law
Chandigarh, April 2 -- The Kendri Sri Guru Singh Sabha on Wednesday questioned the AAP government's plan to introduce a strict law on sacrilege of the Guru Granth Sahib during a special session of the Punjab assembly, calling it a "vote-bank strategy" for the upcoming Vidhan Sabha polls.
It said that the move comes as the government has failed to punish those guilty in the Bargari beadbi cases. In a statement, Singh Sabha president Sham Singh and general secretary Khushhal Singh said that more than four years later, no concrete action has been taken. "We oppose such a law, as it could be misused by the police and administration at the behest of politicians against genuine believers and innocents," it added.HTC...
