India, July 12 -- This monsoon, the 105arts gallery is set to be drenched in the colours of master watercolour artist Shyam Karri, who brings his meditative and emotionally resonant body of work to Chandigarh for the very first time in his solo exhibition 'Prana - The Breath of Life'. The month-long exhibition, curated by Mehak Bhan, showcases 70 watercolour works rooted in nature and steeped in the quiet, flowing energy of Zen. An architect and furniture designer, Karri's love for art goes back to his childhood. Born with an artistic bent of mind, he would, as a boy, gravitate towards creative outlets, be it poetry, words, painting, creating things. "I have always strived to search for harmony amidst the chaos, and I must've been 15 or 16 years old when I realised art strikes the most harmonious balance of them all," he shares. "It was finding a path to exploration. The closer you get to a medium, the more harmonious you become with the self," Karri adds. "Karri's paintings feel like visual haikus - deeply observed, pared down, and poetic. His art strikes a quiet conversation - one that lingers long after you've walked past the canvas. His works have a calming stillness to them, and at the same time, a layered intensity that unfolds slowly. What I find compelling is the way he captures emotion without drama - through line, form, and an almost meditative use of space. Every piece is an experience, grounding yet alive," says Bhan. Karri will also be holding one-of-its-kind watercolour workshop for art enthusiasts at the gallery. The exhibition will be open for viewing from July 12 to August 12, between 12pm and 6pm, at 105Arts, House No. 105, Sector 11, Chandigarh. HTC...
