SHO suspended over 'inaction' against peddling
Bathinda, Dec. 29 -- The Bathinda police on Sunday suspended the SHO of Sangat police station allegedly for failing to curb drug trafficking in his area.
In a social media post, the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) stated that the action was taken against Daljit Singh for failure in curtailing drug trafficking on the Punjab-Haryana border.
Bathinda senior superintendent of police (SSP) Amneet Kondal said multiple issues were behind the suspension.
"The action was initiated on an inquiry conducted by the deputy superintendent of police (rural). Nothing concrete had been done to curb thedrug menace in Sangat. Daljit was unable to resolve sensitive issues on priority. Therewere also multiple complaints against the SHO after an investigation was marked," the SSP added....
