Mohali, May 27 -- Shivalik Public School commenced its week-long INSET (in-service education and training) programme, at Shivalik Public School. It aims to empower educators with tools and insights to better support the psychological and emotional well-being of their students. The day began with a welcome and an inaugural session, followed by a series of talks and sessions delivered by expert speakers. The theme of the day was "Promoting Mental Health and Wellness among students". The sessions covered topics such as yoga exercises for meditation and relaxation techniques, understanding mental health in students, and the critical role of teachers in supporting student wellness. Speakers delved into themes like stress management, coping with transition and change, building emotional resilience, self-esteem, and confidence, along with the practice of mindfulness and meditation in education. Additionally, the importance of sleep, nutrition, time management, and creative expression as a psychological and motivational tool were thoroughly discussed. A high tea break allowed participants to network and reflect on the learnings of the day.
