Shishu Niketan School organises Langar to mark Shahidi Week
Chandigarh, Dec. 29 -- Shishu Niketan Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 22D, Chandigarh organised a Langar Seva on the occasion of Shahidi Week as a tribute to the supreme sacrifices of the Sahibzadas of Guru Gobind Singh. The initiative was aimed at promoting the spirit of selfless service, equality, and compassion while remembering the legacy of courage and faith.
The Langar Seva witnessed active participation of NSS volunteers from Classes 11 and 12, who, along with teachers, volunteered their services in assisting with the arrangements and serving. Pakoras and tea were served to parents and other visitors who had come to the school for the Parent-Teacher Meeting, reflecting the essence of Langar where all are treated with dignity and equality. With Shabad being played in the background, a serene and pious atmosphere prevailed throughout the programme.
On this occasion, students were also made aware of the sacrifices of the four Sahibzadas of Guru Gobind Singh. The younger Sahibzadas, Baba Zorawar Singh and Baba Fateh Singh, were martyred at a tender age for standing firm in their faith and were bricked alive at Sirhind. The elder Sahibzadas, Baba Ajit Singh and Baba Jujhar Singh, attained martyrdom while fighting bravely in the Battle of Chamkaur Sahib, upholding the principles of righteousness and courage.
The school management and visitors appreciated the efforts of the NSS volunteers, and teachers for carrying out the Langar Seva with dedication and sincerity. The initiative served as a meaningful reminder of the values of service, sacrifice, and humanity, inspiring the school community to follow the path shown by the Sahibzadas....
