Shishu Niketan Model hosts capacity building programme
Chandigarh, May 29 -- In alignment with the Central Board of Secondary Education's (CBSE) strategic pedagogical reform initiatives, a capacity building programme (CBP) in Science for elementary-level educators was successfully convened at Shishu Niketan Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 22-D. The programme was meticulously designed to strengthen the pedagogical and conceptual frameworks of Science teaching in alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
The CBP was facilitated by Jyothi and Sunil Kala-CBSE resource persons with extensive experience in academic mentorship and curriculum development. Both facilitators employed an integrated and inquiry-based approach to enhance participant competencies in concept transference, experiential learning methodologies, and formative assessment strategies.
The intensive one-day workshop catered to a cohort of Science educators from affiliated institutions and engaged participants in a series of rigorously structured modules encompassing constructivist learning paradigms, interdisciplinary linkage models, and advanced content mapping techniques. Emphasis was laid on aligning lesson designs with learning outcomes (LOs), as stipulated in the Learning Outcomes Framework of NCERT, and promoting scientific temper through hands-on, minds-on strategies.
Jyothi illuminated methodologies for fostering critical thinking and cognitive scaffolding in young learners, while Kala addressed technological integration in classroom ecosystems, advocating for the adoption of blended learning environments and adaptive assessment tools.
