India, Dec. 20 -- After reports of an income tax raid at actor Shilpa Shetty Kundra's Mumbai residence in connection with a Rs.60 crore fraud probe, her legal team has now dismissed the claims. Her lawyer issued a statement saying, "There is no income tax 'raid' against my client. There is only a routine verification by the income tax officials," adding, "Whoever has claimed that this is related to the alleged Economic Offence Wing (EOW) case shall face legal consequences." Shilpa herself took to Stories to share a note calling the allegations "baseless": "The issues raised are being given a criminal colour without any basis. A Quashing Petition has been filed before the High Court." Speculation about the alleged raid surfaced after Bengaluru police booked two pubs, including Bastian Garden City, co-owned by Shilpa, for reportedly operating beyond permitted hours.
