Mohali, Aug. 11 -- Shemrock Senior Secondary School, Sector 69, hosted its much-anticipated third edition of the Leadership Conclave and Model United Nations (MUN) event. This significant two-day gathering brought together over 500 students from 25 schools across the tri-city, igniting critical thinking, policy debate, and leadership development. The event served as a practical platform for young minds to engage with global issues, hone public speaking skills, and explore the essence of diplomacy. The event commenced with a grand inauguration by Major General Raj Mehta AVSM, VSM. A highly decorated Army veteran, Major General Mehta shared his invaluable insights on leadership, inspiring all students with tales of courage and duty. Saraansh Tandon and Dhruv Singla attended the occasion as guests of honour. The Leadership Conclave, specifically organised for students of Classes 3 to 5, aimed to nurture leadership qualities, team spirit, and communication skills among young learners. Enthusiastic students showcased their potential through a variety of interactive and engaging activities. The MUN simulation provided an immersive diplomatic experience for students from Classes 6 to 12. Delegates engaged in high-level discussions across multiple committees, each focusing on pressing global and national issues. Participants demonstrated critical thinking, research, negotiation, and public speaking skills while representing various countries, political parties, or organisations. The second day saw students dive deeper into committee proceedings, exhibiting exceptional diplomatic acumen, teamwork, and strategic thinking. Delegates debated, negotiated, and drafted resolutions in a professional and respectful manner, upholding the spirit of the United Nations.
