Mohali, Oct. 15 -- With the objective of prioritising children's mental health in the changing educational and social landscape, Shemrock Senior Secondary School, Sector 69, organised a CBSE workshop for its educators. The programme was designed in alignment with the spirit of the National Education Policy 2020 to ensure the holistic development of students. The central theme of the workshop was "Capacity Building Programme on Promoting Mental Health and Wellness among students." Over 50 teachers participated in this crucial session held on the school campus. The programme was led by two personalities: Seema Dutt, a CBSE master trainer and NEP 2020 advocate, and Sunita Kumari, an academic leader with over 27 years of experience. Dutt enlightened the teachers with her ideas on future educational needs, while Kumari enhanced the training with her deep knowledge and practical expertise. During the discourse, it was highlighted that issues like anxiety, depression, and academic stress have increased among children, especially in the post-COVID-19 era. Therefore, specially preparing teachers to handle these issues sensitively is a primary need of the hour. The highly interactive session equipped educators with innovative and practical strategies to strengthen students' emotional health. The workshop provided detailed discussion and training on several key areas.
