Shah meets officers part of anti-Maoist ops
New Delhi, June 8 -- Union home minister Amit Shah on Saturday met senior officers of the Chhattisgarh police who were part of the recent anti-Maoist operations in which top Maoist leader Nambala Keshava Rao alias Basavaraju was killed, along with 26 other cadres in a gunfight.
Shah told the officers that he would visit Chhattisgarh again to meet the jawans who were part of the operation.
After the meeting in Delhi, Shah took to X and wrote, "Met the officers who played a crucial role in the recent anti-Naxal operations and congratulated them..." Last month, during an anti-Maoist operation, carried out by the Chhattisgarh Police (including district reserve guard units from Narayanpur, Dantewada, Kondagaon, and Bijapur districts) in the interior areas of Abujhmad from May 18 to May 21, general secretary of the Maoist party, Basavaraju, was among the 27 killed in the gunfight.
Also on Friday, Chhattisgarh CM Vishnu Deo Sai met PM Narendra Modi and Shah in two separate meetings during which he shared the details of the ongoing Maoist operations....
