Amritsar, July 4 -- An illustrated book capturing damage to the Golden Temple complex and Akal Takht during Operation Bluestar - a military operation carried out in June 1984 to flush out militants- was released on Thursday by Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) president Harjinder Singh Dhami. Photographs, captured by Satpal Singh Danish, form the part of the book compiled and published by the SGPC. Dhami said that June 1984 remains one of the most painful chapters in Sikh history. "It inflicted a deep, irreparable wound on the Sikh psyche. It led to the destruction of invaluable religious treasures, including historical documents and artefacts preserved in the Sikh Reference Library", he said. Dhami said that the book will be made available at the SGPC headquarters, the Sikh Reference Library, the information centre at Sri Darbar Sahib, and the Central Sikh Museum....
