Chandigarh, Oct. 24 -- Rajya Sabha member Vikramjit Singh Sahney on Thursday announced that seven Punjabi men stranded near Dushanbe, Tajikistan, will be safely repatriated to India on October 27.
Sahney said that the men had recently sent a distress video, claiming they were misled by an agent in India and were facing severe mistreatment by their employers abroad.
Upon learning of their plight, Sahney immediately contacted the Indian Embassy in Tajikistan, extending full assistance to ensure their safe return.
He also wrote to the Indian ambassador, urging swift intervention and offered to personally sponsor their air tickets to facilitate their early repatriation.
