Ambala Cantt, Dec. 31 -- Under the able guidance of the school management, The SD Vidya School successfully concluded its 7-Day National Service Scheme (NSS) Camp, reinforcing the message of service to humanity, social responsibility, and cultural values among students. Throughout the camp, NSS volunteers actively participated in a variety of meaningful activities aimed at nurturing empathy, environmental consciousness, and social awareness. A Poster Making Activity on the theme "Youth for Social and Environmental Responsibility" encouraged students to creatively express their commitment towards a sustainable future. The volunteers also observed Veer Bal Diwas through a poem recitation and impactful video presentation, highlighting the ideals of courage, sacrifice, and patriotism. In a gesture of compassion, students visited an old age home, where they donated essential items including a pressure cooker, gajar halwa, and other necessities, and spent quality time interacting with the elderly, spreading warmth and respect. Emphasising environmental and cultural values, the students visited a Gaushala, participated in a plantation drive, fed cows, and attended an enlightening lecture on Sanatan Dharma, focusing on the preservation of cultural heritage and traditional values. The spirit of Seva was further reflected through Langar distribution and the distribution of tea, biscuits, and traditional food items such as saag and makki ki roti, promoting equality, sharing, and community bonding. The camp was successfully coordinated by Priyanka Malik, NSS School Coordinator, whose guidance and dedication played a vital role in the smooth execution of all activities. The closing ceremony emphasised that true education lies in serving society and nurturing humanity.
