Mohali, July 22 -- Shemrock Senior Secondary School organised a special inspiring and informative talk session where decorated retired officers of the Indian Army shared their experiences. They informed students about the 1965 Indo-Pak War and also motivated them to become responsible and patriotic citizens. The session began with a presentation by Major General BS Grewal on the historical background of the 1965 War. Following this, Brigadier DS Grewal gave account of the military operations in Bhuj and Jammu & Kashmir. The highlight of the session was the presentation by Major General ADS Grewal on the Battle of Asal Uttar. He described how the Indian Army successfully halted a large Pakistani tank unit. He also remembered the bravery of Company Quartermaster Havildar Abdul Hamid, who was posthumously awarded the Param Vir Chakra. In his second address, Major General BS Grewal provided information about the Battle of Phillora. This was another significant tank battle in the Sialkot sector. Finally, Major General ADS. Grewal and Brigadier DS Grewal jointly addressed the students.
