Security heightened ahead of polling day
Panchkula, May 9 -- Ahead of the municipal corporation elections, district police have operationalised 24 checkpoints across the district, including five inter-state nakas, two inter-district nakas and 17 other checkpoints, to ensure strict surveillance and smooth conduct of polling.Police have also deposited weapons of 335 licensed arms holders under Section 163(power to issue order in urgent cases of nuisance or apprehend danger) of Bhartatiya NagarikSuraksha Sanhita(BNSS) as a precautionary measure.
