SD College awards 1,886 degrees
Chandigarh, March 2 -- Punjab governor and UT administrator Gulab Chand Kataria presided over the 48th convocation of Goswami Ganesh Dutta Sanatan Dharma (GGDSD) College on Saturday, where 1,886 undergraduate and postgraduate students were awarded degrees.
Scholarships under the Upkar Krishan Sharma Scholarship Scheme were also conferred on meritorious and deserving students. Praising the college's academic standing, including its A+ NAAC accreditation and 70th rank in the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF), Kataria emphasised the importance of holistic education beyond academics. Highlighting women's empowerment, he said women have historically been held back by lack of opportunity, not ability, and deserve equal opportunities to lead institutions and the nation. College principal Ajay Sharma presented the annual report, highlighting achievements in academics, sports, research and placements, including strong performances in Panjab University examinations and championships.
