India, Aug. 21 -- Actor Alia Bhatt's appearance in an anti-drug campaign by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has sparked online criticism, prompting the agency to disable comments on the post. The Chandigarh division of NCB shared the video on August 14 via its official X handle, where Alia urged viewers to "say no to drugs" and support the bureau's mission. Captioned with hashtags like #DrugsFreeBharat #NashaMuktBharat, the clip drew over 1.1M views and more than 680 reposts. Alia herself has never been linked to any drug case. One wrote, "Bol bhi kon raha hai," while another remarked, "They have first-hand experience." A third comment read, "Haan chor ko hi chowkidari pe laga diya." The criticism drew on the industry's past run-ins with drug probes. The Sushant Singh Rajput case (2020) saw several A-list names, including Deepika Padukone, Sara Ali Khan and Shraddha Kapoor, summoned for questioning. In 2021, Shah Rukh Khan's son Aryan Khan was arrested in a high-profile cruise drug bust, though he was later cleared. The backlash also revived memories of Karan Johar's infamous 2019 house party video, featuring several stars, including Alia's husband Ranbir Kapoor, which resurfaced during the SSR probe and was alleged to depict drug use, a claim Johar strongly denied.HTC...
