Jammu, Aug. 28 -- A palanquin owner, Ramesh Singh, who escaped with minor injuries on his chin, recalled the nightmare that unfolded at Ardhkuwari on Tuesday afternoon. Singh said, "We were ferrying pilgrims on our Palki when we heard a deafening blast like sound, it felt like a strong lightning, like a bomb blast. Before we could realise anything, two sheds were hit by boulders." Within a fraction of three to four seconds, the landslide swept away the two sheds, he added. Singh recalled that 35 to 40 pilgrims were buried under the debris. "It was frightening. A huge gush of water, debris, boulders and slush was there. My chin was hurt and was bleeding profusely," he said. The pilgrim in our Palki jumped out and ran to safety, he added.htc...
