Sangrur, Dec. 27 -- Councillors have accused the Sangrur municipal council of not taking a concrete action against the developers of an "illegal" colony that is coming up on nearly nine acres at Mehlan road. Parminder Singh Pinky, one of the councillors, alleged that boundary walls of the colony have already been constructed and "illegal mining" has been going on for laying the foundation of the plots and also the road work. When contacted, executive officer Ashish Kumar said a notice has already been issued to the developers. "They have been ordered to stop the construction work until permission is obtained. Further action will be taken in accordance with the law," he said, adding that the administration has also been informed about it. htc...
