Chandigarh, Aug. 2 -- Rajya Sabha MP Vikramjit Singh Sahney on Friday expressed concern over the functioning of the panel formed by the government in July 2022 to recommend reforms in the MSP mechanism, crop diversification etc. Replying to a question in the Rajya Sabha, Sahney informed that since the constitution of the panel, six meetings have been held in which various representatives from agricultural universities and secretaries in the state government have been included. Sahney said that despite Punjab being a major agrarian state, the VC of Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana, and the secretary agriculture have not been included in the committee.
