Chandigarh, May 6 -- In a heartfelt celebration held as part of its institute week, Sacred Heart Senior Secondary School honoured the unwavering dedication of its support staff on Labour Day. The event began with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, marking the spirit of respect and appreciation for the contributions of those who work tirelessly behind the scenes. Support staff were felicitated by the school community, and the atmosphere was filled with warmth as they joined in singing songs that resonated with unity and gratitude. The students showcased their cultural pride with a bhangra performance, earning resounding applause. A special lunch was organised for the support staff, serving not just food, but a generous helping of appreciation. The occasion was elevated by the presence of the principal and the school manager, who expressed their admiration for the indispensable role played by non-teaching personnel in shaping the school's everyday life. The students were sensitised about the dignity of the staff members of the school. In a gesture of outreach, the school's interact club visited Hub Government School, where they extended the Labour Day celebrations. The student volunteers put up a series of performances aimed at entertaining and acknowledging the support staff there. They also presented thoughtful gifts to the school's support staff and delivered speeches emphasising the dignity of labour, reinforcing the values of respect and gratitude to the support staff of the school. Through this celebration, Sacred Heart School reaffirmed its commitment to nurturing a culture of inclusion, appreciation, and mutual respect. The event aimed to instil respect and gratitude for all forms of labour among the students, so that they become responsible citizens.
