Rs.983 Crore recovered from defaulting consumers: Vij
Chandigarh, Oct. 15 -- Haryana energy minister Anil Vij has said that from April 16, 2025 till September 30, the state's two discoms have recovered an amount of Rs.983 crore as penalties. Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam recovered about Rs.493 crore from defaulting consumers, he said.
The recoveries include Panchkula (Rs.18.64 crore), Ambala (Rs.23.89 crore), Yamunanagar (Rs.117 crore), Kurukshetra (Rs.23.21 crore), Kaithal (Rs.46.21 crore), Karnal (Rs.32.37 crore), Panipat (Rs.73.93 crore), Sonepat (Rs.54.84 crore), Rohtak (Rs.57.12 crore) and Jhajjar (Rs.45.31 crore).
Similarly, Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam recovered about Rs.490 crore, including Rs.29 crore from Gurugram, over Rs.42 crore from Faridabad, Rs.102 crore from Palwal, Rs.29 crore from Narnaul, Rs.13 crore from Rewari and Rs.51 crore from Bhiwani.htc...
