Rs.87-cr development works announced for Sanaur
Patiala, March 31 -- Punjab chief minister Bhagwant Mann on Monday launched infrastructure and irrigation projects in Patiala's Sanaur constituency, announcing Rs.87 crore worth of road renovation works alongside Rs.27-crore canal lining projects that would bring irrigation water to 40,066 acres across 83 villages.
Addressing a gathering at Dudhan Sadhan grain market in Sanaur, the CM said previous governments allowed roads to crumble within days due to corruption, but the current government enforced a mandatory five-year maintenance clause for contractors.
He also underlined that the AAP government expanded irrigation coverage from 21,050 acres and secured Punjab's 25% share of Bhakra canal water from Haryana through a legal battle.
He highlighted the Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojna, more than eight hours of uninterrupted power supply for farm tube wells during paddy season and the state government's plan to mark the 650th Parkash Purab of Guru Ravidass in a grand manner with a series of events.
Targeting traditional political parties, he said those at the helm in previous governments were more concerned about their families. Cabinet ministers Barinder Goyal and Dr Balbir Singh, along with Sanaur constituency in-charge and others were present....
