Rs.26-cr water project stalled due to political interference: Rana Gurjeet
Kapurthala, Dec. 23 -- Congress MLA from Kapurthala, Rana Gurjeet Singh on Monday condemned the "sudden stoppage of work" on the Rs.26 crore potable water supply project in the city.
He said he had carried out an inspection last Saturday when the digging work for laying water pipes was on at full scale. However, the work was stopped the next day at the behest of AAP leaders, the Congress leader said.
The project, sanctioned during the Congress regime, aimed to lay a new 95-km potable water pipeline network across the city to solve the problem of sewage water mixing with potable water.
