Meerut, April 29 -- Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) president Naresh Tikait on Monday criticised the Centre's decision to suspend the Indus Waters Treaty with Pakistan, saying it would affect the common people, especially farmers, in the neighbouring country even as he called for the strictest action against those involved in the April 22 attack. In a video clip being circulated on social media, Tikait stressed that it would be wrong to hold the entire Pakistani population responsible for terrorist activities. He urged the government to take firm action against terrorism. Tikait said, "My statement was misconstrued. I just gave my opinion, but it doesn't mean that I am against the national interests or oppose any move to counter Pakistan-sponsored terrorism." HTC...
