Romance doesn't need grand gestures, say experts
India, Feb. 15 -- Romance doesn't always have to mean chocolates, roses, or an extravagant dinner. Relationship experts encourage couples craving a deeper connection to focus less on grand gestures and more on expressing love with mundane acts that recognise what matters to their partner.
"The more that early on, you as a couple are able to establish good habits of whatever romance is going to look like for you, the better it is," says Traci Lee, a licensed marriage and family therapist in Dallas, US. She encourages couples to discuss their expectations openly. "Some people say, 'If I have to tell my partner what to do, then it won't be romantic.' But your partner is not a mind reader."
Love also evolves with life stages. New couples may thrive on surprises, while those balancing careers, and children, may value quality time together. Gabrielle Gambrell, married for seven years, swears by one rule: "You keep romance alive by continuously dating," maintaining a mandatory date night with her husband despite busy schedules.
