Rhea Chakraborty issued court notice to respond to CBI report in SSR case

n Wednesday, actor Rhea Chakraborty was served a notice from a magistrate court in Mumbai seeking a response to a closure report into actor Sushant Singh Rajput's death.
The Central Bureau of Investigation's (CBI) report comes five years after Sushant's death in 2020. It relates to a case filed by Rhea against Sushant's sisters Priyanka Singh and Meetu Singh and a doctor for abetting his death by suicide.
Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate R D Chavan, presiding over the matter at the Esplanade court, issued a notice to Rhea, the "original informant/victim/aggrieved person" in the case.
The matter will be next heard on August 12. The court will have to decide whether to accept the CBI's report or order further probe into the case.
During its investigation, the CBI recorded Rhea's statements since she was in a relationship with the late actor, and collected his medical records.
On June 14, 2020 Sushant was found dead in his Bandra (Mumbai) residence by his cook. He was 34.
