Chandigarh, Dec. 20 -- A 77-year-old retired SBI bank officer was allegedly duped of Rs.1.3 crore in an online investment fraud, police said. Police said the victim, Vijay Kumar, received a WhatsApp message in August about an online investment scheme, which was allegedly presented as approved by SBI and SEBI. He also reportedly received a call from a man claiming to be the CEO of SBI, who assured him that the investment was safe. Kumar invested the money in multiple instalments. But when he could not recover the money, he was informed by bank officials that no such scheme existed. A case was registered at the cyber crime police station, while the accused are yet to be arrested.HTC...
