Haridwar, Dec. 30 -- A seven member special investigation team (SIT) was constituted on Monday to probe into multiple cases registered against television actress Urmila Sanawar, who claims to be the wife of former Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) legislator Suresh Rathore, a senior police officer familiar with the matter said. The move comes days after an audio clip went viral in which Sanwar allegedly claimed the involvement of some BJP leaders in the 2019 Pauri Garhwal receptionist murder case. The 19-year-old receptionist from Pauri Garhwal district was allegedly murdered by the owner of the resort, where she was employed, and former BJP leader Vinod Arya's son Pulkit and two others staff members at his resort. Her father worked as a security guard. She had moved to the town to pursue her education and enrolled in a hotel management institute, but was forced to drop out due to financial difficulties brought on by the Covid pandemic. She had then started working at the resort in August 2022. According to Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Haridwar Pramendra Dobhal, the seven-member SIT has been formed to investigate four different cases lodged against Sanawar at various police stations in Haridwar district. "The SIT will probe four cases registered against Urmila Sanawar at different police stations. Police officers from Ranipur, Jwalapur, Bahadrabad, Jhabreda and the city police station have been included in the team," the SSP said. The SIT has been directed to examine all aspects of the cases and submit its findings within a stipulated time frame....
