India, Sept. 27 -- Our mandis are the heartbeat of the city, yet what greets visitors is filth, traffic snarls and garbage scattered in every nook and corner. The situation is the same everywhere, be it the Sector 26 market or the weekly mandis. What our mandis need is daily waste collection, small composting units & mobile toilets for ensuring cleanliness. For better traffic flow, unloading should be done during fixed hours and there should be designated parking and shuttle service for visitors.
