Chandigarh, Nov. 19 -- Displaying confidence and control on an opening day, Raza Kaur surged to the top of the Open Gross category with an impressive 73 at the ongoing 31st Punjab Open Ladies Amateur Golf Championship at the Chandigarh Golf Club. Close on her heels was Amreen Sandhu, who carded a solid 75 to finish the day in second place. In the Gold Division (handicap 0-18), Shalini Sheoran emerged as the front-runner with a gross score of 83, narrowly edging past Pauline JM Singh, who finished just one shot behind at 84. The Silver Division (handicap 19-24) witnessed one of the closest battles of the day. Deepshika Pasari, Manishtha Rao and Neeru Singh ended the round tied at 92, setting the stage for an intense fight for supremacy in the coming rounds. In the Bronze Division (handicap 25-30), Cynthia Sandhu claimed the lead with a gross 97, while Neelam Garg sits in second place after carding 100. Among the younger competitors, Bhavya Mann led the Juniors (Under-18) category with 81, followed by Hunar Gill at 85. In the Sub-Junior (Under-13) section, Aarushi Sharma impressed with a gross 85, leaving Mahira Sharma trailing at 114....
