Amritsar, Dec. 20 -- Sikh prisoner Balwant Singh Rajoana, who is a death row convict in former chief minister Beant Singh's assassination case, on Friday raised questions over the letter written to Sikh Members of Parliament, by the Akal Takht secretariat on the directions of acting Jathedar Giani Kuldeep Singh Gargaj. The letter had them to ensure that the Government of India officially changes the name of the martyrdom day of the Guru Gobind Singh'ssahibzadas to "Sahibzade Shahadat Diwas" from "Veer Bal Diwas". Rajoana, who is lodged in the Patiala jail, wrote to the jathedar, stating, "The Akal Takht appealing to the MPs, and taking their help in a way, is an act which reduces the importance of the highestSikh temporal seat that is sovereign. Instead, Akal Takht should have issued an order to them". "Secondly, seven MPs to whom he wrote the letter, are from the Congress party which has committed atrocities on Sikhs, including attack on Akal Takht and November 1984 Sikh massacre. You (Jathedar) are seeking help from the forces which attacked Akal Takht," he said in the letter....
