Ludhiana, May 14 -- As many as 280 old items were sold by the railway authorities at an auction held at the Lost Property Office shed here on Monday.
Seven bidders joined the auction after depositing a certain security amount.
The auctioned items included leftovers in train compartments and platforms.
A variety of goods ranging from clothes, footwear, cycles, trunks, toys, etc were sold during the auction.
The Railways generated 50,610 from the auction. The auction, which started at 12 pm, lasted for three hours. The bidders were usually shopkeepers.
