India, Sept. 1 -- Days after international music producer KMKZ alleged that the Do Patti (2024) track Raanjhan lifted his piano beat without authorisation, the song's composers Sachet-Parampara have dismissed the claim and issued a defamation notice. The duo told us in a statement, "The person alleging they composed the music for Raanjhan is making completely baseless accusations, clearly intended to stir controversy and gain visibility. With the consultation of my lawyers, we have issued a defamation notice, and we are prepared to take strict legal action to address this malicious attempt to discredit our work." The composers added that they submitted session files and piano scores to YouTube, Spotify and other platforms, which confirmed their authorship and rejected "other copyright claims." Their technical analysis shows the song is based on a F# major chord progression including F#5, F#5 major 7, B sus 2, E flat minor, D flat and E flat minor, "commonly found in numerous works across genres" and not grounds for plagiarism. Last Monday, KMKZ alleged in a video that he had uploaded the beat online two years ago and was alerted by a listener who recognised it in Raanjhan.
