The directions were issued during a high-level review meeting held at the secretariat with officials of concerned departments and district magistrates to assess the progress of the Kedarnath reconstruction works and the Badrinath Master Plan, as well as preparations for the upcoming Char Dham Yatra. Emphasising the need for smooth and well-organised pilgrimage management, the chief secretary said that problems on the yatra routes and during darshan at Kedarnath and Badrinath must be identified and resolved on priority. "Pilgrims should have a pleasant experience throughout their journey and return. All preparations should be geared towards this objective," he said. Bardhan directed that while issuing darshan tokens, pilgrims must be provided real-time information about the token number currently being served at the temples. He said that details regarding the estimated waiting time for darshan should also be communicated on token issuance, and this system must be implemented during the current Char Dham Yatra season....
