Chandigarh, Dec. 17 -- In a move to strengthen the state's healthcare infrastructure, the Punjab finance department has granted approval to fill 1,568 vacant positions of Auxiliary Nurse Midwives and staff nurses under the National Health Mission. Finance minister Harpal Singh Cheema on Tuesday said that the approval covered recruitment for 729 vacant positions of ANMs, and 839 vacant positions of staff nurses.
