Punjab, WHO launch pilot project for cancer care
Chandigarh, July 31 -- Punjab government, in collaboration with the World Health Organisation (WHO), India, has launched a comprehensive Cancer Care Pilot Project in the districts of Bathinda, Mohali and Gurdaspur.
Health minister Dr Balbir Singh, and WHO representative to India, Dr Roderico H Ofrin said that this will ensure access to early, equitable, and quality treatment for all.
"This initiative is designed to enhance early detection, timely diagnosis, and prompt treatment of oral, breast, and cervical cancers, three of themost prevalent and preventable cancers in India," Singh said.htc...
